Let’s engage with racial discourse. You will have the opportunity to learn about and experience one group’s approach to raising awareness and exploring race within history, our present, and the interpreting field. As you continue in your journey of awareness about racial dynamics within the interpreting profession, we will provide scaffolding with an example of where and how to start and an opportunity for all participants to make a commitment on the next step in what could be your lifelong learner’s journey. Possible outcomes include deepening curiosity to understand race dynamics in interpreting, discovering new ways to take action on the individual and collective levels, and growing and improving individual and profession-wide practices.
